Just a Gut Feeling- How food can turn into feud in your body

Over the past two years I have gone through a rollercoaster of health issues I never expected to face. After months of what felt like a “stitch” in my upper abdomen, similar to the feeling you get when you don’t breath steady while running, I started down a long path of digestive health issues that taught me a lot about my body’s functions and tested my patience and optimism. Over the next few weeks it is my goal to write several blogs about that journey and how it better taught me to take care of myself. Anything from the dangers of inflammation in the body to how food can dictate mood, I want people to know there is support out there for those of us who aren’t always feeling our best, and don’t know where to start in getting better. I have tried all sorts of different methods in different areas. Anything as basic as diet change or as broad as mental health resources and how to find ways to cope during times of uncertainty. The American diet and food quality has changed drastically in the 21st century and it is important to know how to navigate your daily habits to maximize the quality of life and your health. I hope even one person can get something useful out of this, and at best be able to find support and encouragement knowing that it’s never too late to focus on your health and make lifestyle changes for the better.
